The OPG has issued a new safeguarding policy (11 Jan 2022) which is a helpful reminder about where it will look into alleged abuse and where it has no statutory role. For example, it has no legal power to investigate unregistered EPAs; concerns about former deputies or concerns about the actions of people other than deputies and attorneys. In such cases it is worth taking legal advice to explore what other steps that can be taken to deal with such concerns.
